The draw schedule and the Zoom link to watch will be sent to you by email the day before the draw.
Spring Herring 2024
Spring Herring - Experimental netting of spring herring using commercial style gillnets.
DFO is looking for fishermen to complete an experimental spring herring fishery in these following regions:
Region 2: Two vessels & two Captains in region 16B will each be responsible for fishing five commercial style experimental gillnets on the same night, once per week for a total of four weeks.
Region 3: Two (2) vessels & two (2) Captains in region 16C will each be responsible for fishing five commercial style experimental gillnets on the same night, once per week for a total of four weeks.
Region 4: Two vessels & two Captains in region 16E will each be responsible for fishing five commercial style experimental gillnets on the same night, once per week for a total of four (4) weeks.
DFO requires that one of the two boats in each region perform additional sets with a variable-mesh experimental netting. This will be discussed after the winners have been selected.
